The result: over 30 per cent of the student body, which is slightly older (average age is 25), has already completed college or university. Concepts of diversity, equity, global citizenship and social justice are embedded in the curriculum, encouraging critical thinking about a diverse world. Students in any of the 305 full- and part-time, career-focused programs can enrich their education further (without extra cost) by earning a leadership credential. More than 1,000 academic pathways are offered, including partnerships with 88 institutions.
“Centennial serves as a model for building our country,” says Ann Buller, president and CEO. “Students engage in experiential learning that drives technical and professional competencies, but they also have opportunities to develop their identity as a citizen, to understand their responsibility to build the country we all deserve.” As such, the college increased its number of local and global service-learning experiences, including volunteering, working and studying on a reserve in Canada. Students can also study at the Suzhou, China, campus.
Opening in January 2019, the Downsview Park Aerospace Campus will be an innovative hub for aviation and aerospace research and training.
- Leads GTA in student and employer satisfaction at 76 per cent and 94 per cent, respectively (2017 statistic)
“Centennial is all about diversity, inclusion, global citizenship and equity. How those values are embedded in different programs is incredible. I’m so proud of being a Centennial graduate and earning my Distinction in Leadership, because I have learned much more in terms of those values and a sense of giving back to your community.”
