Ariana Grande feels 'empty,' says she doesn't 'have anything' to give fans
Ariana Grande is experiencing a tough time.
On Thursday, the “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” singer shared on Twitter that she felt emotionally depleted.
Responding to a fan who speculated that the musician might want to “live her life without socials or negativity for a while,” Grande, 25, explained she just felt a void.
“i just feel empty and i wanna have more to say / better energy to give to u,” she tweeted, “and rn i don’t have anything. love u.”
Grande opened up in subsequent tweets which have since been deleted reported Us Weekly and E! News (referencing screenshots by fan accounts).
According to the outlets, Grande described making music as “healing,” but said, “Performing it is like reliving it all over again and it is hell.”
In the span of less than two years, the singer has endured the May 2017 terrorist bombing of her concert in Manchester, England, her May 2018 split from Mac Miller and his subsequent death in September and the end of her engagement to fiance Pete Davidson the following month. Grande, who has been open about all these events, broke down in tears onstage in December, saying she’d had “the worst year.”
Last week, Grande shared a screenshot that showed a scan of her brain on her Instagram Story, including areas that appear to be affected by post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
The screenshot compared images of a “healthy” brain and one affected by PTSD. Underneath that, Grande placed a photo labeled “my brain,” which looked shockingly similar to the brain with PTSD.
